To have a vehicle crossing installed, a license must be obtained from your local council. The majority of our installations fall inside the Devon County Council area. Different councils work slightly differently.
The application process for Devon County Council works as follows:
1. Home owner calls Devon County Council on 0345 155 1004 or 0845 155 1004 to ask for approval for a vehicle crossing.
2. Devon County Council will put you on a waiting list for one of their 'Neighbourhood Officers' to come and view the proposed site.
3. They will come out to see you on site and discuss what you are proposing, agreeing on a size and specification for the crossing.
4. The council will provide you with Vehicle Construction Specification and Approval documents.
5. We as the contractor contact the council to provide dates (giving them the required three weeks notice) and sign documentation to agree that we will install the job to the specification they have provided.
5. We come on the dates agreed to install the vehicle crossing.
